About CI

My name is Mark Rogers. I’m a minister, husband and father. I’m an avid outdoorsman, shooter, fisherman, kayaker, boater.  I have a great group of the world’s greatest friends who I do life with. And for decades I have dealt with chronic insomnia. It started some time in my late 20s and has followed me through life in varying degrees now into my mid 50s. Some of it has been from life style issues that I haven’t been willing to give up, like my morning coffee that is one of life’s great pleasures for me. Consequently, I deal with some degree of sleeplessness knowing that if I changed that, I could probably be more successful.

Other factors play into it now that I’ve gotten older and some physical conditions that while they can be managed, contribute regularly to difficulty sleeping. I also have a hopelessly whirling mind that causes me to “think” myself awake at odd hours, frustratingly keeping me awake. That snowballs into worrying about the sleeplessness which further agitates me into an awakened and irritated state. If I don’t do something about these bouts in the middle of the night, I will find myself getting dead weary about the time I should be getting ready for work in the morning.

These are just a few of the situations that contribute to my sleeplessness which I’m betting sound immediately familiar to people entering this site. But the site deals with many more potential causes of chronic insomnia, and references other sites that have intensive information and physical or medical help if necessary.

The main thing in considering what will solve your sleepless dilemma, is to not count anything out until you’ve tried it. I’ve talked to a lot of people over the years who have difficulty sleeping. And when I get outside their familiarity or comfort level as to what to try, they shut down any information that they don’t feel like they can process. They have, in effect condemned themselves to sleeplessness and the endless stress and desparation caused by chronic insomnia.

If you can keep an open mind, I’m betting that you, as I have, can find the solutions that may not cure the cause or causes of the insomnia you suffer from, but can enable you to essentially overcome it. No matter how long you’ve suffered from it or how desparate you may feel, you can get a good night’s sleep somehow. If you’ve been trying and haven’t found out how, you’re just that far ahead in determining what won’t work.

And you’re that much closer to finding out what will help you get a good night’s sleep. Keep digging. The solution is out there.
